Hrello was shaped as a fresh comfort food brand for people who want everyday meals to feel easy, warm and well considered. The work centred on creating a food identity that could feel approachable without becoming generic. From brand identity and packaging to menu design, retail graphics and creative direction, the system was designed to make comfort food feel fresh, recognisable and part of daily life.
“Comfort food works best when it feels familiar, but not forgettable. The brand should make the everyday moment feel a little more cared for.”
Comfort food is often presented through abundance, nostalgia or speed.
For Hrello, the opportunity was to create a fresher and more contemporary expression of comfort. The brand needed to feel warm enough for everyday use, clear enough for quick decisions, and distinctive enough to stand out across packaging, menus and retail environments.
The result is a brand system built around simple pleasure. A visual and verbal language that makes food feel inviting, accessible and thoughtfully prepared.
The Hrello identity was developed to feel friendly, fresh and confident.
Typography, colour, layout, illustration style and graphic details were shaped to create a sense of ease. The system avoids overcomplicated food cues, instead using clear hierarchy, generous composition and warm visual signals to make the brand feel immediately understandable.
The identity gives Hrello a recognisable presence across product, packaging and customer-facing surfaces. It feels casual, but still carefully designed.
Packaging was treated as one of the main brand touchpoints.
The Hrello packaging system was designed to help products feel easy to choose, easy to understand and consistent across the range. Colour, naming, flavour cues, product hierarchy and graphic structure work together to support quick recognition without making the range feel repetitive.
The system gives each product enough personality while keeping the wider brand coherent. It helps Hrello feel fresh in the hand, on shelf and across takeaway or retail moments.
Menu design was shaped around speed, appetite and clarity.
For Hrello, the menu needed to do more than list items. It needed to help customers understand the offer, compare options and move from appetite to decision without unnecessary friction. Visual hierarchy, category structure and product language were designed to make the experience feel simple, clear and inviting.
The menu system supports both everyday favourites and seasonal or promotional additions, giving the brand a practical structure for growth.

Retail graphics were developed to make the Hrello world feel present in physical environments.
Signage, point-of-sale elements, product moments and environmental graphics were shaped to bring warmth and energy to the customer journey. The system uses friendly messaging, clear information and approachable visual cues to support browsing, ordering and product discovery.
The retail language helps the brand feel lively without becoming visually crowded.
Creative direction for fresh familiarity
Hrello’s creative direction was built around the balance between freshness and familiarity.
Imagery, styling, colour and composition were designed to make food feel real, warm and enjoyable. The direction avoids overly polished or artificial presentation, instead creating a more natural sense of appetite and everyday use.
This gives the brand a flexible visual world for packaging, retail, social content and campaign-style moments.
Food brands build trust through repetition: the product is recognised, the choice is understood and the experience feels consistent.
Hrello brings together identity, packaging, menu design and retail graphics into a brand system designed for everyday moments. The work creates a foundation where comfort food can feel fresh, accessible and quietly distinctive across the customer journey.
